- Gehinom (Yiddish: Gehenna)
- A very unpleasant place where the dead may be punished for up to 12 months following their deaths in order to cleanse them of any sin-pollution they may have died with.
- Gemara
- The Aramaic text that discusses and elaborates on the terse, Hebraic text of the Mishnah. It was compiled approximately by the year 600 CE. The Gemara created in Babylon along with the Mishnah forms the 'Babylonian Talmud.' A less comprehensive Gemara created in Israel in called the '[Palestinian Talmud' or 'Jerusalem Talmud.'

- a storeroom that was used to store holy books or scrolls that were too damaged to be used. Eventually, the contents of a genizah might be buried. The most famous genizah is the Cairo Genizah.
